Ellen Gallagher known as Nellie was born on 04 Apr 1908, in Tavnaglass, the seventh child of Edward & Mary. In 1926, she emigrated to the United States, where she married James Cahill from Co.Clare in 1939.
The Cahill family consisted of three children:
- James, born 3 Sep 1940, married Nancy Doyle, 15 Oct 1966.
- Edward, born 16 Apr 1942, married Jeanie.
- Joseph, born 15 Aug 1947, married Diane Christiansen, 16 Jun 1973.
